Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris was born on the 20th of October, 1964. She is an American politician. She is both the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official of the United American. She is a senator and former US senator representing California. Harris was born and raised in Oakland, California. Harris started her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then recruited to join the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she was appointed district attorney of San Francisco. In 2010 Harris was appointed Attorney General of California. She was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California, from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. In her time as a senator, she pushed for healthcare reform, federal descholaring for cannabis, a path for undocumented immigrants to become citizens, the DREAM Act and a ban on assault weapons. She also backed progressive tax reform. She was well-known for her direct questioning of Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
